Megan Tomestic
As a compassionate and licensed North Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages to explore their unique challenges and goals.
With a strong educational foundation, I hold multiple degrees, including a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, a Master's in Health Arts and Sciences with a focus on Expressive Art Healing from Goddard College, and undergraduate degrees in Liberal Studies and Fine Arts.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, person-centered, and psychosocially focused, incorporating the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. I believe that each individual is the expert in their own life and an active participant in their healing journey.
With experience working in various settings, including therapeutic foster care and group homes for children and teens, as well as supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities, I draw from a range of theoretical perspectives, including Adlerian, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Play therapy.
I'm skilled in utilizing talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions, and therapeutic play to address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and more. My goal is to empower each individual to tap into their inner strength and resilience, fostering a deeper sense of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and overall well-being.

I earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in Psychology and Sociology, from Coastal Carolina University.
My passion lies in helping youth and families thrive by promoting personal growth and emotional wellness. I strongly believe that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s an investment. As I often remind my clients, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”When your mental health flourishes, you have more to give to yourself and to others.
I’m thrilled to be part of the Love Life Counseling Services team.
